The Moors

Presented by Angelina College

Directed by Danial Anderson

Assistant Director Jaidyn McCoy

As a costume assistant, I constructed and adapted multiple character looks with a focus on functionality, storytelling, and quick-change practicality.

1.  For the Mastiff character, I built the wardrobe by hand, adding faux fur to a button-down shirt, vest lapels, and pockets, and modifying the pants with fur accents on the lining, cuffs, and back pockets. I also engineered a quick-change element to depict the Mastiff consuming the Moorhen by creating removable feather clusters using beads and concealed safety pins, allowing for fast application and removal.

                                                                      ----------------------------------------

2. For the Moorhen, I hand-placed and secured feathers across a shawl, intentionally layering and arranging each piece while integrating small trinkets to build a detailed, nest-inspired design.

                                                                    ----------------------------------------

3.  For the Maid character, I adapted multiple elements, repurposing a lace hand covering into a reinforced headpiece attached to a headband, and modifying an apron with lace trim and adjustable suspender-style clips for quick changes.

                                                                    ----------------------------------------

4. I tailored Emily’s skirt by hemming and taking in the sides to ensure proper fit.

In addition to wardrobe construction, I managed three backstage quick changes on show days: assisting Huldy with a dress change and blood application; assisting Emily with a dress change and adjusting her makeup to a more stylized, Tim Burton–inspired look; and executing the Mastiff transition by applying pre-built feather elements and blood effects.

Oklahoma

Presented by Angelina College Theater

Directed by Daniel Anderson

I served as one of three costumer’s assistants for Oklahoma!, contributing to both construction and wardrobe support. My responsibilities included sewing hook-and-eye closures onto a skirt to improve fit and functionality, assisting actors during costume fittings, and breaking in stiff leather boots by using a heat gun and massaging the leather to ensure comfort and performance readiness. This role supported both the practical function and overall presentation of the costumes.

Charlotte's Web

Presented by Angelina College Theater

Directed by Kary Raine

The Goose's skirt was meticulously handcrafted by hot gluing individual feathers onto a fabric strip, which was then sewn onto the base of the skirt. To ensure a seamless look, additional feathers were carefully added to fill any gaps.

The Bat wings were carefully hand-sewn and stuffed to create a sense of depth, while the Rat costume was meticulously crafted with hand-sewn patches of worn, dingy fur for added texture and authenticity.

The evolution of Mrs. Homers costume for *Charlotte's Web* and a last-minute solution for Wilbur's costume. I was given the task of sewing his pig ears onto a headband, but due to a last-minute hiccup with his original outfit not arriving on time, I had to put a new costume together just two nights before the show.
